Essential Airsoft Gear

The most important piece of gear for any airsoft player to have is a good set of eye protection. While BBs can hurt on any bare skin, the eyes are particularly vulnerable and need to be protected by a good pair of ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 rated protective goggles or paintball mask.

The next most important item is a chest rig, or tactical vest. This will need to fit your specific gun, magazines, and accessories, while also providing plenty of great storage options like pouches for a hydration system, dump pouches, and more. One great chest rig that Airsoft GI highly recommends is the Condor Modular Chest Rig, which is extremely customizable and made by a company that has been and continues to serve the US military with excellent quality.

Other essential airsoft gear includes a good pair of boots, long sleeved shirt, pants, and closed toe shoes that can protect your feet from getting hit by BBs. Many players also prefer to wear a helmet and gloves for additional protection from impact. For outdoor airsoft, it is recommended to wear camouflage that matches the terrain you are playing on or reflects the military theme of your mission, such as AUSCAM or MultiCam.

In addition to being able to blend in with your surroundings, some fields have rules that prohibit players from fighting or shouting expletives and taunts, as this can give away their position to the enemy and ruin the game for everyone. Many new players will also want to consider adding a shemagh scarf to their airsoft outfits in order to be more stealthy on the field. airsoft gear
