Water Soluble Film Packaging Machine

Water Soluble Film Packaging Machine is an automated system that can be used to seal pouches made of polyvinyl alcohol, PVOH or other water soluble film. The machine is capable of producing thousands of packages per day and can be used to package a wide range of products from powdered laundry detergents, protein shakes, and other liquid and semiliquid foods. It has several important features that allow for precise measuring and a safe, sanitary, and reliable sealing process.

The packaging machine is equipped with a lower film transmission mechanism, vacuum suction device, upper film support mechanisms, cross-cutting devices and longitudinal cutting device. The system is also equipped with a water-sealing device, a sealing nozzle and a metering unit. It can also measure tensile force and strength using an INSTRON tensile testing apparatus or equivalent.

A sealing solution is used to slightly wet the surface of a water-soluble film prior to feeding it into the packaging machine. The sealing solution can include a plasticizer for the film composition, a surfactant or other additives that are compatible with the film. The plasticizer can be in liquid form at room temperature, or it can comprise a combination of liquid and solid plasticizers.

Alternatively, the film can be wetted directly by spraying the surface with a suitable wetting agent. The wetting agent can be a water-based liquid, or it can comprise a mixture of different liquids such as glycerin, diglycerin, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, tetraethylene glycol, propylene glycol, polyethylene glycols up to 400 MW, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, lactic acid, ethanolamines, and others.
